Growing up in a family of 10 kids (8 brothers and 1 sister), a young Fred had ample opportunity to live his material. At dinner time, every night became a show with raucous banter and personalities playing off of each other.

After graduating with a Finance major, Fred followed in his dad’s footsteps as an insurance salesmen for Prudential. Although he had some nice success, Fred couldn’t get comedy out of his mind. While in his cubicle at work, he often heard his peers excitedly discussing opportunities and all things business. . . meanwhile all Fred could think about was jokes. He knew he had to get back into comedy. Fred decided to enter Showtime’s Funniest Comedian in Milwaukee contest. HE WON! This win not only got Fred on Showtime but eventually led to a host of other television appearances such as on NBC, A&E and Comedy Channel.

Fred started opening for musical legends such as Kansas. He performed with Jay Leno for a Benefit for the Unemployed. He became a regular on Milwaukee’s premier radio morning show Dave & Carol (which eventually became Dave & Dorene). He released his first audio special “Listen @ Your Own Risk”. He was asked to become a showcase performer for elite international cruise ships. He opened for comedy legends Jerry Seinfeld and Craig Ferguson. He brought in two sold out shows at Milwaukee’s Riverside Theatre as part of his good friend’s (Dave Luczak of WKLH radio) fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital of Milwaukee. These shows were filmed; its release many years later (Fred Klett LIVE) has brought in over 11 million views.
